**Overview

Field Service/Support Engineer: Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers’ needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers.

This position provides cargo (CVI) equipment field service engineering support to delivered cargo systems in Egypt.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carrying out the repair, maintenance and overhaul as necessary elements of cargo systems (CVI)
- Performing general maintenance, fitting, troubleshooting and fault finding on CVI systems & sub systems.
- Providing oral and written response to requests for 3rdline technical request from site of operations to either site engineers, Rapiscan distributors engineers or customer reps
- Providing defect liability or post acceptance support for CVI mobile or airport cargo equipment.
- Installing static, gantry or portal CVI systems as part of an installation team.
- Completing technical documentation including service reports, engineering change requests & inputting service data to a simple functional database.
- Installations: Play a key role in complex and multifunctional site installations. Assist senior engineers in installation and other related work. Shares best practices.
- Training: Proactively seek training to keep up-to-date with technological developments in own modality/modalities
- Quality: Promptly escalate any quality or integrity issue.
- Travelling: as required.
- Environment, Health & Safety (EHS): Comply with the EHS Policies and applicable laws and regulations. Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions.

- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
- Ready to relocate based on the business need and the assigned duty station.

**Qualifications**:

- Qualified to degree level in Electrical and/or Electronics or equivalent. (HND +)
- Technical analytical & Trouble-shooting skills.
- Very good IT Skills with knowledge of networking. PLC knowledge a very good advantage.
- 3-6 years field service experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of screening or X-ray is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
- High work standards - qualitatively, demonstrates initiative and motivation.
- Strong customer skills
- Full rights to live and work in Egypt
- Very good command of English
- Very good communication skills
