Automation Architect

Overview:
As part of PepsiCo’s digital transformation agenda, we are seeking a strong Automation Architect to join our expanding SRE team. As Automation Architect, you’ll work with a variety of talented PepsiCo SRE teammates and serve as a driving force for performance, help in setting technical strategy & roadmap, as well as bring the automation roadmap to life.

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver initiatives for IT for IT Automation using **Ansible Automation Platform** (AAP) or **AWX**.
- Implement Automation framework, best practices for Ansible Automation Platform and **Azure DevOps** (ADO)
- B the SME for **PowerShell**, **Python**,** **and **Unix Shell **scripting** and ensure our automation are as per the set standards and guardrails
- Maintain reference patterns for automation best practices and
Orchestration
- Partner to influence and support innovation & continued drive towards Automation, touchless operational sustainment as a design/architecture construct working with AIOPS technology partners/managers.
- Execute the strategic automation program according to the strategic roadmaps aligned with CTO and other stakeholders
- Review/develop and implement script and tools as needed for integration with core services, automated pipelines, and testing tools.
- APIs delivery Integration with platforms such as CMDB, Firewalls, DNS, AD, and Cloud Services
- Deploy and maintain engineered automation solutions through collaborative efforts with team members and third-party vendors.
- Manage and contribute advanced troubleshooting to automation system problems.
- Delivery of technical automation activities of project teams and/or executing technical tasks in the design, development, implementation, and documentation of process automation/control projects.
- Deliver regular technology roadmap updates and partner with vendors to ensure continual platform evolution
- Drives continuous improvement efforts to meet automation systems health goals, as well as emerging capability needs.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering or related field required; master’s degree preferred

**Experience**:

- 5+ years of experience in delivering automation solutions at scale and integration across multi-functional SRE areas.
- 2+ years hand on with **Ansible Automation Platform** (AAP) or **AWX** developing sophisticated runbooks
- 3+ years’ experience developing **scripting for OS, storage, **and **network **using Python**, **PowerShell**,** and REST **APIs** like **Python**, Java, Go, Phyton, C/C++** **for automating repetitive tasks, prototyping automation, and testing
- Experience in developing & implementing Automation & AIOps frameworks in a complex global environment is a big plus.
- OS and Platform Experience in **Azure, **Pivotal Cloud Foundry (**PCF**)**, Kubernetes, Linux, Windows, VMware, AWS, Cisco, Infoblox, F5, **and **Palo Alto**.

- AIOPS/ Observability & Automation tools & Frameworks**:Moogsoft**, Big Panda, UiPath, ServiceNow Integrator HUB, Looms, Robotic Processing** **Automation (**RPA)**, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Framework**s,** **DataDog**, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Elastic, Kibana, Kafka, CloudWatch, Jaeger, **Zipkin**, Kinesis, Apache Airflow, **Focus Run**, **TWS, SAP Solman, **Nimsoft, ELK**, AppDynamics, Splunk**, IBM BigFix**

**Nice to have exposure**
- ITOM & Collaboration tools: ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, Tableau.
- Data/Data Structures: Oracle, SQL, Mongo, Hadoop, Cloudera, Spark, Teradata
- API development using 3rd party libraries, REST/API
- Enterprise Architecture experience
- DBA experience
