At Sumerge, our Project Cost Accountant Lead is essential in steering the financial aspects of our projects towards success. This leadership role encompasses not only managing project accounting tasks but also guiding and mentoring a team of cost accountants to ensure adherence to financial standards and optimally align with project objectives. Your analytical prowess and strong understanding of project financial management will be instrumental in driving efficiency and effectiveness across all project financial processes.

We seek a proactive leader who excels at strategic planning, cost control, and performance analysis. You will be responsible for implementing best practices in project accounting and ensuring that financial data integrity is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Leadership and Team Management**: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project cost accountants, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- **Project Budget Management**: Oversee the preparation and management of project budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- **Cost Control and Monitoring**: Implement stringent cost control measures, analyze costs against budgets and identify discrepancies.
- **Financial Reporting**: Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including forecasts, variance analysis, and budgetary recommendations to stakeholders.
- **Risk Management**: Identify financial risks associated with projects and implement mitigation strategies accordingly.
- **Stakeholder Collaboration**: Work closely with project managers and other teams to ensure financial processes support project goals and timelines.
- **Compliance and Audit Support**: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and provide support during internal and external audits.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience in project accounting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
