Mechanical Design Engineer

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop detailed Mechanical (HVAC, water supply, drainage, etc.) system designs for various types of construction projects.
- Ensure all designs are in compliance with local UAE and GCC regulations, codes, and standards, as well as international best practices.
- Engage with clients to understand their specific requirements and ensure their needs are incorporated into designs.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on plumbing and fire protection solutions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers, ensuring integrated and coordinated designs.
- Attend coordination meetings to address potential design conflicts and offer solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and drafters, ensuring the consistent quality of design outputs.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies, tools, and techniques in the plumbing and fire engineering field.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and reports for project documentation.
- Review and approve material submissions and shop drawings from contractors, ensuring compliance with design intent.

**Essential skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with further post-graduate education desirable (e.g., Masters degree), along with demonstrated work experience within the field
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on sustainability and digitalisation.
- Experience delivering LEED-certified or other building certification projects and have an excellent understanding of building systems performance
- Professional qualification and work experience with development, and/or implementation of Sustainability Rating Systems such as LEED, Mostadam, Passive House or equivalent.
- Experience with UAE and KSA projects is preferred.
- Professional expertise in software platforms, including Revit and IES.
