Business Analytics Sr. Lead

**Role Purpose**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
As a BI Analytics Sr. Lead, you will be responsible for compiling actionable insights from data and assisting program managers build data-driven decisions. Could act as a one-man team or lead a virtual team to deliver Insights projects with hands-on contribution to the development work.
- Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytic systems
- Work directly with management and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships
- Proactively analyse data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
- Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement through analysis of complex data sets
- Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting appropriate combination of methods and tools within defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution
- Utilize strong database skills to work with large, complex data sets to extract insights, filter and cleanse unstructured (or ambiguous) data into usable data sets that can be analysed to extract insights and improve business processes

**Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or Statistics.
- 7+ years' experience in data analysis role
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills to help collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to understand business requirements, translate and execute the technical analysis, derive metrics calculations, and present the information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to create interactive, user-friendly and compelling dashboards and reports using Power BI and one or more of other visualization tools (Qlik Sense or Tableau)
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, and querying data using SQL, Power Query, DAX
- Expert Excel user: able to understand and analyse / build complex spreadsheets
- Competency of at least some of the following languages or their equivalents: Python, and mathematical libraries (Pandas, Numby, matplotlib etc..)
- Good knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts.
- Experience in predictive analytics, identifying data patterns and developing data dictionaries and target state data flow and process flow diagrams that will all serve as the primary inputs for modelling the data.
- Comfortable presenting complex analysis in a simple, and easy to business stakeholder. easy to digest for C-suite level stakeholders
- Strong business sense, Excellent communication and comprehension skills: confident communicating with people of differing levels of seniority, analytical understanding and from a wide variety of backgrounds
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a complex work environment, focusing on high-value activities
- Proven ability to work cross-functional teams to translate business issues into potential analytics solutions ((listening, questioning, challenging etc.)
- Problem-solving skills, Accuracy and attention to detail, ability for critical thinking, creativity
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal). additional languages are a plus

**Preferred Competencies, Knowledge and Experience**:

- In depth understanding of advanced statistical techniques and methodologies as well as simple linear regression analysis, multivariate regression analysis and model building.
- Experience in working with databases and data mining techniques in a business environment with full Understanding of data warehousing, and data modelling concepts.
- Experience in designing and delivering enterprise BI solutions on an enterprise data platform ( e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, Teradata, Hadoop, AWS, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Experience in ETL implementation, extracting data from a variety of sources (e.g. flat files, relational databases, no-SQL databases, Big Data platforms)
- Practical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packages including Excel, SPSS, and SAS
- Ability to utilize source control tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Git)
- Telecom experience is a plus
