Amentum is actively seeking a Mine Hunter Coastal (MHC) Mine Warfare Specialist for International Fleet Support under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS 326 Follow-On Technical Support (FOTS) contract. **The work location will be at the Egyptian Naval Base in the port of Alexandria, Egypt.**This position includes a competitive benefits package.
**Essential responsibilities and daily duties include**:
- Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for various Mine Warfare systems onboard military vessels owned by the Egyptian Navy.
- Provide subcontractor oversight and on-the-job training to the Egyptian national workforce.
- Support execution of ship availabilities and technical assistance requests for various platforms, as required and directed by the Technical Assistance Team (TAT) Manager.
- Conduct Material Condition Assessments (MCA) and repair and maintain AN/SLQ-48 Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), AN/SQQ-32 sonar, consoles, and associated ancillary equipment. As the Egyptian Navy modernizes their fleet, the range of systems will expand accordingly.
- Inspect and test electronic equipment, components, and assemblies using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, and other electronic test instruments, tools, and equipment.
- Provide training to the shipboard crews on the operation and maintenance on mine hunting ROV’s and sonar, consoles, and associated ancillary equipment.
- Support Alteration and Installation Team (AIT) processes to include equipment upgrades, system updates, and work with other partners and vendors.
- Operate, test, and demonstrate troubleshooting and maintaining of a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment aboard ships.
- Provide a detailed report on findings, required repair parts, and recommendations.
- Participate as a member of the Amentum TAT in close coordination with the TAT Manager.
- Provide timely and comprehensive inputs for the Monthly Status Report.
**Minimum Requirements**
- High School diploma or GED.
- 6 years of experience supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of U.S. Navy Mine Hunting Systems.
- Expertise at a Subject Matter Expert (SME) level of knowledge on U.S. Naval MHC’s and future MCM’s to include the A/N SQQ-32 V3, V4, and V3+ sonar and various ROV’s.
- Working knowledge of NAVSEA standard items as applicable to intermediate and depot level repair procedures, repair, and maintenance standards, quality assurance specifications, and proper use of IMA industrial machinery.
- Work under limited supervision and have strong mine warfare knowledge and experience.
- Ability to independently solve problems, interpret schematics, use manufacturers manuals, and use knowledge of electronic circuit theory to troubleshoot systems.
- Working knowledge with AIT processes to include equipment upgrades, system updates, and working with other partners and vendors.
- Proficiency with basic computer operation with the ability to create and maintain various reports and spreadsheets.
- Ability to use hand and precision measurement tools, and a thorough knowledge of standard shipyard practices.
- Proficiency in operation, testing, and demonstration from troubleshooting and maintaining a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment aboard ships
- Ability to interpret vessel blueprints and ship drawings along with research of ships systems manuals to identify problems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be proficient in English.
- Ability to obtain a Country Clearance and Base Pass authorization.
- Ability to possess a current passport at least two years after arrival in Egypt.
- Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- US Navy A and C school for electronics A/N SQQ-32 V3 sonar and A/N SLQ-48 systems graduate.
- Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer or First Class Petty Officer.
- Subject Matter Expert level of knowledge with Panama City MIW systems in addition to one’s cited above.
- Experience working in an Arab country for long periods of time.
