Facilities and Maintenance Lead Engineer

YOU’LL WORK ON:
As a Facilities and Maintenance Lead you will play a key role in maintaining the current and supporting the expansionof Shift EV facilities to meet our scaling plans. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of facility operations including planning, contractors management and equipment maintenance. Your goal is to ensure facilities are efficient, safe, and capable of supporting the company's growth. Moreover, your primary responsibility is to create an environment where our employees can work happily, safely, and provide the best possible employee service. YOU'LL HAVE OWNERSHIP OVER:

- Safety is our overriding priority and you have to ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Manage day-to-day operations of facilities, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure a safe and functional environment.
- Set technical specifications for all spare parts needed.
- Following up on the manufacturing and procurement of special spare parts or components for the different machines.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend facilities’ utilities, machinery and equipment lifespan.
- Plan, monitor and control machine spare parts consumption.
- Design maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
- Monitor and manage facility-related regulatory issues, contracts, service agreements, and vendor relationships.
- Develop and manage the facilities budget, including cost estimation, forecasting, and expense control.
- Source and procure supplies, equipment, and services required for facility operations.
- Optimize resource allocation and utilization to achieve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Accountable for facilities expansion projects and responsible to search and upgrade our existing footprints
- Lead and mentor a team of facilities and maintenance staff, including technicians or subcontracted service providers.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing and motivated team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the facilities department.

YOU ARE:

- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering with a background of Mechatronics or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing)
- Proven experience (5-7 years) in facilities management and industrial equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Experience working with laser equipment (cutting, marking, welding).
- Experience working with pneumatic machinery and equipment.
- Experience working with automated production lines is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of facility operations, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams and external contractors.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
