The purpose of Microsoft Philanthropies is to advance the company’s mission by making the opportunities of our rapidly evolving digital economy accessible to all people, particularly those most at risk of being left behind. As such, we are looking for a seasoned Social Impact /Corporate Philanthropies professional who will be charged with managing the local implementation of Microsoft Philanthropies in MEA, reporting to the International Field Lead.
The pillar programs of Philanthropies are focused on “Skills for Jobs” ensuring that we reach those excluded from technology opportunities with skills training so that they can participate in the Digital Economy. A second pillar is identifying and implementing Microsoft’s AI for Good projects to leverage the power of AI to improve the social impact of initiatives in the region.
**Responsibilities**:
The Philanthropies Lead reports to the MEA Philanthropies Regional Director and has the following responsibilities:
Work with the country Leadership teams to represent the Philanthropies core strategies and initiatives to drive maximum impact and align with the business priorities.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan, setting goals, aligning with internal and external stakeholders, balancing investments through public-private partnerships, enabling broad reach of beneficiaries
- Work with the Microsoft Philanthropies programs teams to implement core strategies and programs for the maximum impact, including Skills and Jobs, Strategic Customer Engagement, AI4Good, Employee Giving, public policy and advocacy initiatives, and storytelling.
- Actively create opportunities for partnership, collaboration and engagement with large customers and partners, showcasing Microsoft technologies and leveraging existing Philanthropies initiatives, in alignment with these companies’ social impact-related or corporate responsibility objectives.
- Help advance Microsoft’s policy agenda by partnering with the Government Affairs team to support public policy advocacy for issues aligned to the Microsoft Philanthropies priorities, such as skills and employability.
- Provide insights and feedback to global field guidance and programmatic planning, as well as to adapt content for local implementation of programs and campaigns.
Core Priorities:
- Develop Relationships and influence with the Leadership Team: cultivate relationships to get support for the Philanthropies initiatives in the Pan-Arab region to maximize the social and business impact. Work effectively with Corporate stakeholders to provide feedback to improve the strategy and local impact.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Skills for Jobs: Define and lead Pan-Arab strategy to equip underserved communities with in-demand skills to be employed in the digital economy.
- Strategic Customer Engagements: Actively create opportunities for partnership, collaboration and engagement with strategic customers to advance Microsoft’s Philanthropic and Tech Corporate Responsibility priorities while deepening the partnerships.
- Employee Giving: Ensure operational and programmatic excellence of global Giving program.
- Humanitarian and Disaster Response: Represent Philanthropies in assessing regional humanitarian and disaster response.
- Operational Excellence: Manage budgets effectively, including allocation, management of the forecast and spend, on time and within compliance.**Qualifications**:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Corporate Social Responsibility practitioner in a corporate or non-profit setting working across the Pan-Arab region.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders internally and externally to achieve strategic objectives.
- Business and ESG acumen to understand the alignment between business and social impact initiatives. The ability to develop relationships and credibility with leadership to drive influence and impact in a fast-paced and matrixed org.
- Experience in strategic planning, managing and implementing digital skilling and entrepreneurship programs and grants, with proven success in developing and managing public-private partnerships.
- Regional understanding and context: Ability to execute programs to deliver measurable impact against the regional contexts in Pan-Arab countries.
- Fluency in Arabic, English, and French.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external leaders, customers, partners, and audiences.
