**Position Overview**
A Civil Supervisor in construction oversees and coordinates construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards of quality and safety. They act as a liaison between project managers, workers, and contractors while ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and local building codes. **Key Responsibilities**
- **Supervision and Coordination**:

- Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring work progresses as planned.
- Assign tasks to site workers and contractors, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitor site progress, identify delays, and propose solutions to maintain timelines.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Inspect construction works to ensure adherence to design specifications, blueprints, and project standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure high workmanship.
- **Safety Compliance**:

- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure workers comply with safety regulations.
- Report any safety incidents or hazards promptly and take corrective actions.
- **Resource Management**:

- Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment needed for work.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain daily site logs, documenting work progress, delays, and issues.
- Prepare reports for the project manager on the status of the project.
- Assist in preparing work schedules and updating project timelines.
- **Stakeholder Communication**:

- Act as the primary point of contact between workers, subcontractors, and the project manager.
- Resolve conflicts or issues on-site to ensure smooth operations.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- **Educational Background**: Diploma or degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
- **Experience**: 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and plans.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
- **Soft Skills**:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
- **Certifications**:

- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are a plus.

**Work Environment**
- Majority of work is conducted on construction sites, often outdoors.
- May require working overtime, weekends, or in adverse weather conditions to meet project deadlines.
