- **PROJECT BACKGROUND**

The Business Egypt Program is a five-year, USAID-funded program implemented by DAI. Business Egypt aims to substantially increase sales revenues and investments among Egyptian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and, by so doing, create new job opportunities, especially for women and youth. The project will co-invest with an ecosystem of institutions—business service providers, business associations, supportive government institutions, and more—to offer new products and services enabling MSMEs to better meet market demand and increase their sales. Business Egypt’s proposed sectors are renewable energy, ICT, and 3 additional sectors TBD. The project will operate from offices in Cairo, Alexandria, and Minya/Assiut (TBD).

**2. POSITION DESCRIPTION**

The Communications Specialist will support the design and implementation of BE’s communication strategy. He/She will support communications and outreach efforts and ensure timely development of communication materials and reports for USAID and other audiences. This position will report to the Communication Manager.

**3. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support the implementation of the Communications and Outreach Plan for the BE Program, including the use of media and social media;
- Based on implementation progress under each BE’s objectives (1, 2, and 3), contribute to the development of communications and outreach materials, including videos, factsheets, program publications, and success stories. This includes concept development and content development in cooperation with technical staff and project management.
- Implement innovative story and picture capturing of BE’s program and activities using videography, and high-quality photography.
- Create social media and online communication efforts, including website content, on Facebook, and LinkedIn, and other approved social media venues, as needed.
- Support the collection of information from the BE teams and sub-awardees to collate and assist in preparing the quarterly and annual reports and any other special reports. Responsible for narrating and editing regular progress reports that are submitted to USAID.
- Support the Communications Manager to establish and maintain an organized and easily accessible digital picture and video log of BE activities.
- Ensure that BE communications are compliant with USAID branding and marketing requirements.
- Support the integration of gender programming across all BE services: designs, research, monitoring and evaluation, assessments, and implementation.
- Ensure proper archiving and filing of communication material and conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of archived data.
- Support data collecting and reporting for USAID databases, as needed.
- Coordinate between MEL, communications, and technical teams.
- Other tasks as assigned.

**4. QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field required.
- Minimum 7 year of professional experience, including 4 years of experience in communication product development, report writing, and/or social media.
- Experience in designing media campaigns and outreach efforts is preferred.
- Experience working with USAID or other international donors is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills - both written and spoken.
- Must have excellent English and Arabic language proficiency, verbal and written.
