**Description**:
Develop the core networks data Design to guarantee Network Redundancy, Reliability, and simplicity.

**Job Responsibility**:
**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:
1. Data core design:

- Ensure an efficient and future proof Data Core Network design and optimization.
- Align with Technology Functions to ensure VF-EG leadership in Data service.
- Maintains close alignment with Service Management teams during projects implementation facilitating proper and quality hand-over.
- Align with Commercial Department to support them with new technology capabilities to achieve marketing products and services calendar and improve customer experience.
- Drive readiness of New Data Technologies.
- Manages the data core nodes roadmap.
- Liaises with Vodafone Group and suppliers to drive new technology solutions and innovations to improve customer experience and ensure technology leadership.
- Identify relevant network topology that best utilizes the resources of the network and minimizes the CAPEX and/or OPEX spending.

2. Network design & optimization:

- Ensures Vodafone market leadership in data through providing the best throughput, latency and uninterrupted connectivity.
- Manage the packet data core nodes design and optimization.
- Design owner for EPC nodes ,optimizer, load balancers and CDNs.
- Considers feedback from Service Management teams for re-occurring problems, input for re-design while acting as third line of support.

3. Customer experience assurance:

- Coordinate with CE team to follow up and resolve any network malfunctions.
- Ensure all Customers committed KPIs are met.

**Key performance indicators**:
Meeting or exceeding the relevant network KPIs.
Meeting the core networks budget and phasing KPIs.

**Role Requirements**:
**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- Be able to work with global technology.
- Good knowledge of F5/openwave, EPC,DNS ,and data CDNs.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Innovative and fast learner.
- Advanced level of Engineering / Technology knowledge with a broad knowledge of other areas of the business.

**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:
B.Sc or M.Sc Degree in communication / electronics engineering.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the mobile data domain; preferably in Network design /operations.
