**Supply chain Advisor** **Project Overview and Role**: Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) is a USAID funded project whose objective is to increase Egypt’s international trade by increasing exports from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the activity’s “selected sectors”; Engineering Products, Food Processing, Home têxtiles, Ready Made Garments, Chemicals, Printing and Packaging, and Building Materials The TRADE Activity will achieve the following three Results: Enhanced Export Capacity of SMEs, in particular New and Expanding Export - Ready Enterprises (NEEREs)[1] in the Selected Sectors. Strengthened Public and Private Trade-Support Institutions (e.g., Trade Associations, Export Councils, etc.); and Improved Trade and Investment Policy, Regulatory and Institutional Environment [1] New and Expanding Export Ready Enterprises is a specific term for TRADE that refers to a sub-set of SMEs. ***Primary Duties and Responsibilities**: **OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES** Under the supervision of R1 lead, the supply chain advisor will provide technical assistance in supply chain management to all suppliers (SMEs) of anchor firms that are partners with USAID TRADE. The overarching goals are enhancing the suppliers’ overall competitiveness to meet the required standards of the partnering anchor firms, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and optimizing their supply management processes. A secondary focus involves coordinating TRADE's initiatives, acting as a liaison between Anchor Firms and Suppliers (SMEs). This coordination ensures the effective implementation of action plans and improvement programs, facilitating the seamless integration of suppliers (SMEs) into regional and global supply chains. Additionally, S/he will aim to align those suppliers (SMEs) with sophisticated export market requirements, fostering business growth, and fortifying their resilience in the face of challenging economic conditions.. **Tasks and Responsibilities** - Support in fostering collaboration between Anchor Firms and the suppliers, and lead the creation of coordinated action plans for sustainable business growth. - Work in close coordination with the project’s Private Sector Consultant, EAs, TA team, Suppliers (SMEs), and external consultants to ensure the effective implementation of agreed upon improvement plans including certifications, quality, health and safety and other supply chain related issues. - Conduct follow-ups with Suppliers (SMEs) to ensure the successful implementation of the action plans and associated work plans, in close coordination with Anchor Firms and the project’s team. - Analyze data derived from Suppliers (SMEs) operations and processes, identifying bottlenecks and other challenges that may impede product delivery, client satisfaction, and international competitiveness. - Devise cost-effective solutions for Suppliers (SMEs) to meet requirements of Anchor firms. - Provide coaching and guidance to Suppliers (SMEs)' staff members, addressing matters related to operational efficiency, logistics, handling, health, and safety. This guidance aligns with established Good Manufacturing and Handling Practices (GMHPs) and Lean Manufacturing Principles. - Evaluate and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), offering insights to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making. - Monitor logistics processes to ensure seamless operations, promptly addressing any issues that may arise. - Maintain and regularly update supply chain records of selected partner Suppliers (SMEs) to reflect the latest developments and improvements. < > **Required Qualifications**: - Possess previous experience as a supply chain manager or in a comparable role within a prominent logistics, trading, and/or manufacturing establishment engaged in exporting and international trade (10-12 Years of Total Experience). - Preferably, holding a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing & Engineering, or a related field, providing a solid educational foundation for understanding the intricacies of supply chain dynamics - Demonstrate excellent knowledge of supply chain processes, showcasing a deep understanding of the complexities inherent in international trade. - Exhibit practical experience with relevant Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP MM, highlighting proficiency in leveraging technology for streamlined supply chain operations. - Display excellent organizational and project management skills, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines effectively. - Show meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision in data analysis and proposing solutions to identified challenges. - Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills, showcasing the ability to innovate and provide practical solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency. - Possess a strategic and analytical mindset, capable of evaluating and interpreting KPIs to drive c
