**Role Overview**:
As a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that all departments and actions within the company comply with relevant laws and regulations, focusing on data processing, data management, and online security standards. Your role will involve a detailed understanding and implementation of compliance requirements, notably in Canada and Europe, including GDPR, PIPEDA, and other applicable regulations, to guarantee our alignment with client expectations and legal frameworks.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Data Compliance Oversight**: Ensure that all data processing activities adhere to legal requirements, specifically focusing on GDPR, PIPEDA, and other relevant legislation.
- ** Departmental Compliance Assurance**: Collaborate with various departments to assess their processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory compliance standards.
- ** Policy Development and Implementation**:Develop, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures, educating and training staff as necessary.
- ** Risk Assessment and Mitigation**: Conduct regular risk assessments, identify potential compliance risks, and provide actionable solutions to mitigate these risks.
- ** Client Engagement Support**: Interface with clients on compliance-related inquiries, providing necessary documentation and information to ensure their confidence in our adherence to legal standards.
- ** Monitoring and Reporting**: Establish monitoring systems to track compliance status and prepare reports to management highlighting areas of strength and improvement.
- ** Stay Abreast of Regulatory Changes**: Continuously monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations, keeping the company informed and adapting policies and practices accordingly.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Compliance, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3 years) in a compliance role, preferably in a data-intensive industry or within the realm of online security compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of GDPR, PIPEDA, and other relevant compliance regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legal requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various departments and external stakeholders.
- Certification in Compliance or relevant areas is a plus.
Note:The position is available on a contractual basis for a duration of 4 to 6 months.
