**Requirements and responsibilities**

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop software API services.
- Address scalability and security concerns in new and existing features.
- Manage data storage schema and index changes for those features.

Primary skills:

- Elixir or equivalent level of language.
- Have a frontend experience in React.
- REST API design and implementation.
- RabbitMQ or equivalent queueing infrastructure.
- Cloud development experience (especially AWS).
- API as a Service development.
- PostgreSQL.

Secondary skills:

- Service-oriented architectures.
- Data warehousing or analytics background (Snowflake or analytic tooling).

Soft skills:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, primarily with the technical team.
- Formal API documentation.
- Ability to help clarify or flag feature requirements and test/QA/deployment needs when discovered insufficient.

Notes:

- This role requires overlap with multiple time zones for planning meetings, status updates etc. on a regular basis.
