Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Systems Infrastructure Specialist to join our ICT Unit as part of the Compute & Storage Team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our IT infrastructure, including backup systems, SAN storage, virtualization platforms, and physical servers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor backup systems to ensure data protection, integrity, and recovery.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise SAN storage solutions, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical servers and related hardware.
  • Implement infrastructure best practices and contribute to system architecture improvements.
  • Work closely with team members and other ICT units to support ongoing projects and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure components, procedures, and configurations.
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and regular health checks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 to 8 years of proven experience in IT infrastructure roles.
  • Hands-on experience with backup technologies (e.g., Commvault, Backup EXEc etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of SAN storage systems (e.g., Dell IBM, HPE, Lenovo).
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Experience with server hardware (Dell, HPE, Lenovo etc.) and data center operations.
  • Solid understanding of networking and security principles as related to infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Certifications (a plus):

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent
  • CompTIA Server+, Storage+, or equivalent
  • ITIL Foundation
