Role Summary

The Data Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and implementing enterprise-wide data architecture strategies to enable trusted, scalable, and high-performing data platforms. This role ensures data consistency, security, and accessibility across multiple business domains—aligning data initiatives with business goals and digital transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Architecture & Modeling

Design and implement enterprise data architecture (conceptual, logical, and physical models) aligned with business objectives and governance standards.

Develop and maintain data models for transactional, analytical, and big data systems (data warehouse, lakehouse, and mesh).

Standardize data definitions, metadata structures, and lineage documentation.

2. Data Platform Strategy & Design

Architect end-to-end data solutions across on-premise, cloud (Azure/oracle), and hybrid environments.

Define frameworks for data ingestion, processing, storage, and access using modern technologies (e.g., Databricks, Delta Lake, Denodo).

Support implementation of data fabric, federated, or mesh architectures as per enterprise maturity.

3. Data Governance, Quality & Security

Collaborate with Data Governance teams to enforce NDMO, PDPL, and SDAIA compliance.

Define standards for data quality, lineage, privacy, and master data management.

Implement security-by-design principles, ensuring role-based and policy-driven data access.

4. Integration & Advanced Analytics Enablement

L
ead integration between structured and unstructured data sources (ERP, OT, IoT, external APIs).

Enable self-service BI, predictive analytics, and ML platforms through semantic modeling and metadata management.

Work with data scientists and analysts to optimize datasets for performance and scalability.

5. Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with enterprise architects, business SMEs, and IT teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.

Mentor developers, data engineers, and analysts on architecture standards and best practices.

Conduct regular data platform assessments and recommend modernization initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.

15+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics platform design.

Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Neo4j,Cosmos DB, etc.).

Proficiency in cloud data services (Oracle data warehouse,Azure fabric and Databricks).

Strong experience in data modeling tools (Visio, dbt).

Knowledge of data governance, MDM, metadata, and catalog tools (Informatica, Denodo).

Solid understanding of modern architecture patterns (data mesh, data fabric, lakehouse).

Familiarity with data pipelines and orchestration (ADF, NiFi, kafka , azure event streaming).

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications

Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

Azure/AWS/GCP Data Architect Certification

TOGAF or DAMA Certification

Databricks or Snowflake Certified Architect
