Role Purpose

To develop, coordinate, and manage detailed mechanical BIM models for construction projects, ensuring alignment with design intent, project specifications, and construction requirements. The role is responsible for supporting multidisciplinary collaboration, detecting clashes, and providing accurate and constructible mechanical designs within the BIM environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Participate in implementing technical office policies and procedures.
  • Study the project contract documents (time schedule, project design drawings, BOQ, etc.).
  • Update the shop drawing log before sending the shop drawing to the consultant for approval.
  • Study and prepare requests for information (RFIs) for all missing, unclear, conflicting, or other technical matters that may arise during construction.
  • Review sub-contractors' shop drawings as well as outsourced shop drawings (if any) and coordinate their approval process with the project consultant.
  • Participate in solving/reporting any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise during construction to the Technical Office Senior engineer for discussion and proper solution.
  • Prepare as-built drawings at the end of the project and handover to the project consultant.
  • Professional use of BIM authoring and BIM Tools to create complete and accurate information models. Hence to enrich BIM models with crucial data and information.
  • Run clash detection analyses to identify potential conflicts between different systems.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 1-2 Years of experience
  • Proven experience as a BIM Mechanical Engineer within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design and installation practices.
  • Proficiency in BIM authoring and coordination software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with BIM standards, workflows, and execution plans.
  • Strong understanding of clash detection and resolution techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction site processes and MEP installation is an advantage.
