Layout Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Layout Designer to join our creative team, focusing on enhancing both educational content and corporate materials (print and digital platforms). The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of visual design principles, user experience (UX), user interface (UI) principles, and accessibility best practices, with a proven ability to create exceptional, engaging, and functionally coherent layouts.

In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for conceptualizing and executing innovative designs for a diverse range of materials, including online learning modules, educational textbooks, promotional graphics, websites, brochures, and various print and digital assets. You'll collaborate closely with a variety of stakeholders to ensure all designs effectively communicate brand messaging, align with educational objectives, and meet or exceed user expectations.

Responsibilities

• Design and Layout Creation: Conceptualize, design, and create visually appealing, user-friendly layouts for a broad spectrum of materials, including:
• Online learning modules.
• Educational print materials (textbooks, workbooks, guides).
• Corporate and promotional materials (brochures, websites, presentations, graphics).
• Visual Strategy, Branding & Consistency: Select appropriate typography, color schemes, imagery, and graphic elements to enhance overall design, user engagement, and readability. Ensure consistency across all platforms and materials, strictly adhering to brand guidelines and maintaining a cohesive visual identity. Apply a strategic understanding of brand guidelines to all layouts, ensuring the visual message supports the overall branding strategy.
• Collaboration & Feedback: Collaborate effectively with Instructional Designers and Curriculum Developers to ensure visual elements and layouts effectively support educational objectives, accessibility, and learner engagement. Review and revise designs based on feedback from stakeholders, educators, clients, and end-users.
• Technical Execution & Optimization: Utilize design software (primarily Adobe Creative Suite) to execute design concepts and prepare final designs, ensuring all files are properly formatted, optimized, and meet industry standards. Create prototypes and mockups for review.
• UX, UI, and Accessibility: Apply strong knowledge of web design principles, user experience (UX) best practices, and user interface (UI) design principles to ensure the accessibility and usability of all materials for diverse audiences, particularly within digital platforms and Learning modules.
• Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging design techniques in both general layout and education technology to incorporate innovative ideas and best practices.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Visual Arts, Education, or a related field.

Experience: Proven experience as a Layout Designer or similar role, preferably with experience in educational publishing, or a related design industry.

Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in design software, specifically Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Familiarity with prototyping and wireframing tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch).

Design Fundamentals: Excellent understanding of fundamental design principles, including typography, color theory, composition, and layout principles. Solid working knowledge of UI/UX principles for digital product design.

Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality layout and design work, particularly highlighting experience with both educational/E-Learning content and various print/digital media. Demonstrated understanding of branding strategy and its application to visual design across various mediums.
