About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Media and Communications Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will support both internal and external communications efforts, craft compelling content, manage media relations, and assist in promoting our mission across various platforms and audiences. This position is vital in amplifying Al Baraka's voice on the Islamic economy, economic reform, and sustainable development.

• Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the implementation of the organization's communications strategy at global, regional, and national levels.
• Develop and maintain a media and stakeholder database aligned with the organization's goals.
• Monitor media trends and proactively insert Al Baraka's messaging into key conversations.
• Build and sustain relationships with journalists and key media contacts.
• Draft, edit, and disseminate communication materials including press releases, website content, social media posts, marketing content, and printed materials.
• Track media coverage and compile performance metrics.
• Create newsworthy and impact-driven content (e.g., interviews, speeches, reports) that positions Al Baraka as a thought leader in the Islamic economy.
• Manage digital assets including photography, videography, and media kits.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content alignment and effective campaign distribution.
• Coordinate Arabic and English content for websites and assist with content design and system management.
• Conduct research and contribute to the development and publication of media materials.
• Continuously update skills and apply new communications tools and strategies.
• Support event promotion, campaign execution, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Travel for events, field visits, or media engagements as required.
• Create and execute the institution's marketing communications strategy in collaboration with the Media and Communications Manager to meet strategic marketing objectives.
• Define and create marketing communication messaging.
• Assist in the creation of the institution's marketing communications budget and ensure spending aligns with strategy and required approvals.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to maintain consistent branding and corporate identity across marketing and PR channels.
• Work with cross-functional teams (all institution departments) to produce effective promotional materials in line with international brand positioning and guidelines.
• Search for and create PR lists and invitation lists of professionals and institutions in the targeted country.
• Design, develop, and maintain the institution's marketing collateral.
• Support the creation of impactful marketing strategies and implement campaigns to increase market share in Islamic finance and economics.
• Plan and execute the institution's approved events (conferences, product launches, exhibitions, etc.).
• Produce detailed marketing proposals for events, programs, and projects (timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing, and budgets).
• Work with the Media and Communications Manager to identify and develop major supporters and secure partnerships.
• Build and maintain pipelines of prospective major supporters and partners.
• Create sponsorship and partnership packages and proposals.
• Contribute to the business development database and track relationships.
• Collaborate with the Media and Communications Manager to ensure effective partner journeys, care, and stewardship.
• Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication ONLY, specifically as BA in Press or TV/Radio.
• Note:
  If the degree is in Public Relations, candidates must demonstrate strong press writing skills.
• Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in media, communications, or development-related sectors.
• Languages: Fluency in English and Classical Arabic is essential.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Familiarity with digital communication tools and website management systems.
• Preferred QualificationsExperience working in the non-profit or development sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to implement communication strategies and produce high-quality multimedia content.
• Background in managing awareness campaigns or media advocacy.
