About the Role

The Release Manager acts as the central coordinator of the release and deployment process for all digital software entering MBC's production environments. This role ensures that every release follows a defined process, is well-planned, and runs smoothly across multiple cross-functional teams (Development, QA, System Administration, and Project Management).

You will be responsible for governing and improving release processes, identifying risks, and ensuring smooth and timely deployments that support the business's rapidly evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Governance

  • Define, document, and continuously improve release processes based on business requirements.
  • Ensure all agile teams understand and adhere to established release procedures.
  • Contribute to enhancing Continuous Integration (CI) practices and deployment workflows.
  • Recommend the most suitable release approach depending on the nature and complexity of each release.

Planning & Coordination

  • Coordinate release schedules in alignment with product roadmaps, project plans, and campaign timelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of shifting priorities, business commitments, and project dependencies that impact release plans.
  • Prepare and manage readiness reports, release notes, risks, issues, and checkpoints.

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead and oversee all Go-Live activities, ensuring all required internal and third-party teams are present and engaged.
  • Ensure all release impacts (security, performance, load testing, dependencies) are properly assessed and completed.
  • Support emergency releases in collaboration with Software, Operations, and QA teams.
  • Participate in root-cause analyses (RCA) for release-related incidents affecting customers.

Continuous Improvement

  • Promote operational excellence and best practices across technology and operations teams.
  • Identify release risks early, escalate when needed, and support decision-making on risk acceptance or release delays.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in Release Management or a related software development operations role.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, release processes, deployment strategies, and change management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate release-related risks.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation skills with experience maintaining clear and accurate release notes.
  • Knowledge of operational best practices and compliance standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in
    Microsoft Project, Jira, and Microsoft Office
    .
  • Experience with
    Confluence
    and
    Product Discovery
    is preferred.
