Technical Office Engineer – Construction Sector

Location:

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Job Summary:

The Technical Office Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating all technical documents and drawings related to construction projects. The role ensures that project designs, shop drawings, and material submissions meet client specifications, engineering standards, and project timelines. The Technical Office Engineer acts as a key link between the site, design, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:


• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure technical accuracy.


• Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings in compliance with project requirements.


• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for design clarifications and technical approvals.


• Prepare and submit material submittals, method statements, and RFIs (Requests for Information).


• Assist the Planning and Procurement Departments in preparing project schedules and material take-offs.


• Conduct quantity surveying and BOQ verification for ongoing projects.


• Ensure that all technical documentation is updated, accurate, and properly archived.


• Provide technical support to the site team and resolve any design or construction-related issues.


• Participate in value engineering activities to optimize cost and performance.


• Ensure full compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:


• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (depending on project type).


• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Office Engineer in construction or contracting companies in Saudi Arabia.


• Strong knowledge of shop drawing preparation, BOQ, and construction documentation.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Primavera is an advantage.


• Familiarity with Saudi Building Codes and government project standards.


• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
