Senior Backend Engineer (Laravel + / TypeScript) – Olimi AI (New Cairo)

Olimi AI is building the first Arabic Voice AI platform in the region, powering automated customer calls for enterprises using natural, human-like AI voice agents.

We're now migrating our large-scale CRM backend from
Laravel
to

, and we're looking for a
Senior Backend Engineer
who can help lead this transition and build mission-critical backend services at scale.

What You'll Work On

  • Lead the migration of our backend from
    Laravel 10
    to

    .
  • Implement core backend modules: authentication (JWT), roles/permissions, queues, schedulers, file storage, API endpoints, real-time events, etc.
  • Work with
    MySQL
    , Prisma/TypeORM, Redis, and AWS (S3 presigned URLs).
  • Integrate with our AI stack: TTS, STT, LLMs, Twilio, WhatsApp, RAG, and more.
  • Collaborate closely with founders, AI engineers, and frontend teams.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years backend experience
    with strong expertise in
    Laravel
    and

    .
  • Deep understanding of API architecture, queues (BullMQ), authentication (JWT), WebSockets, microservices.
  • Experience handling large, complex codebases and designing scalable systems.
  • Solid knowledge of MySQL and database optimization.
  • Ability to read and translate legacy Laravel code into optimized services.
  • Strong communication skills and a startup mindset.

Bonus if you have

  • Experience with Prisma or TypeORM
  • Worked on AI-integrated systems (TTS, STT, chatbots, embeddings)
  • Built large-scale file storage systems (S3 presigned URLs, media processing)
