Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for the Head of Department (HOD) for English at the British School, located in Qesm El Maadi. The English HOD will oversee the English department by managing teaching staff and coordinating curriculum planning and development. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing mentorship and guidance to teachers, tracking student progress, and ensuring the effective delivery of courses according to the school's academic standards. The position also involves fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment to achieve academic excellence.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and expertise in English Language instruction, including curriculum development and class planning
  • Experience in educational leadership, team management, and teacher mentorship
  • Ability to assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to improve outcomes
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills to manage department schedules and resources effectively
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with the British curriculum is highly desirable
  • A relevant degree in Education, English, or a related field; advanced qualifications preferred
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable educational environment
  • Experience in curriculum innovation and integrating modern teaching tools is an asset
