Job Summary
As the
Governmental and Public Affairs Senior Manager for Breadfast
, you will lead the company's strategic engagement with government authorities, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and public audiences. You will be responsible for shaping policies, safeguarding business interests, and enhancing corporate reputation across FMCG, retail, and supply chain sectors. This role demands a proactive leader who can navigate complex regulatory environments, influence public policy, and steer external communications at a national and regional level.

You will play a critical role in aligning governmental and public affairs strategies with the company's broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Government Relations & Regulatory Strategy

  • Regulatory Intelligence & Foresight Oversee the monitoring and in-depth analysis of legislative and regulatory developments impacting manufacturing, labeling, distribution, retail operations, and supply chain logistics, managing the needed regulations/licenses related to FPs, warehouses Operations. Provide strategic insights and risk assessments to the Executive Committee.
  • Policy Advocacy & Representation Lead the development and execution of high-impact advocacy strategies, including lobbying initiatives, public consultations, and strategic partnerships. Represent the company in high-level government forums, policy discussions, and with influential industry associations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Influence Building Establish and nurture executive-level relationships with key government ministries, regulatory authorities, policy think-tanks, and trade bodies. Position the company as a thought leader and trusted partner in policy dialogues and sector reforms.

Public Affairs & Corporate Reputation Management

  • Executive Communications & Media Relations collaborate efficiently with Marcom and Legal team to review constantly, report all external communications related to regulatory issues, including press releases, executive speeches, and public statements, and support in advising on the content to be released in the event of crisis communication management strategies, ensuring swift, coordinated responses to reputational risks.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability Advocacy Spearhead initiatives linking governmental relations with community engagement and sustainability agendas. Align CSR activities with public policy priorities (e.g., food safety, environmental standards, ethical supply chain practices).
  • Cross-Functional Leadership Drive collaboration across Legal, Compliance, Operations, Marketing, and CSR teams to ensure integrated policy messaging and regulatory alignment across business units.

Leadership & Strategic Scope

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the C-Suite on all governmental and regulatory matters impacting the business.
  • Develop and manage the Government Affairs budget, ensuring resource optimization.
  • Mentor and build a high-performing Government Affairs team to support business growth and regulatory preparedness.
  • Lead the development of internal governance frameworks for regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement protocols.

Qualifications

  • Education Bachelor's degree in law, Political Science, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Government Relations, Public Affairs, or Regulatory Strategy roles within FMCG, retail, manufacturing, or supply chain industries.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing policy advocacy campaigns and direct engagement with high-ranking government officials and industry influencers.
  • Track record of managing crisis communications and public affairs at a corporate level.
  • Preferred
