Database Development:-

  • Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Develop efficient T-SQL queries, scripts, and ETL processes to support application and reporting needs.
  • Optimize SQL queries for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with software developers to integrate database logic into applications.
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices in SQL development.
  • Database Administration
  • Manage and monitor SQL Server instances, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks (backups, restores, index optimization, statistics updates).
  • Monitor and tune database performance (CPU, memory, IO, and query execution plans).
  • Implement and maintain security policies (roles, permissions, encryption).
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patching.

Daily Operational Support:-

  • Investigate and resolve database-related issues or errors reported by users or systems.
  • Review SQL Server Agent jobs, replication, and scheduled tasks daily to ensure successful execution.
  • Monitor disk space, backup completion, and alert logs proactively.
  • Work closely with infrastructure and application teams to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
  • Document incidents, root causes, and resolutions to improve system reliability.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3 7 years of experience in SQL Server database development and administration.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and database design principles.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Profiler, and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, or Power BI for data integration and reporting (preferred).
  • Understanding of backup/recovery strategies, replication, mirroring, and Always On Availability Groups.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle day-to-day operational challenges.
