Role Description

ADSN Energy & Infrastructure is seeking a talented and detail-oriented
3D Laser Scanning & Survey Engineer
to join our team for a 1-year project in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing high-precision 3D laser scanning, point cloud processing, and as-built modeling for industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects. This role requires a strong technical background in surveying, 3D data acquisition, and digital modeling workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and manage
    3D laser scanning
    and
    topographic survey
    operations using terrestrial scanners (e.g., Trimble, Leica, Faro, or equivalent).
  • Conduct
    data registration, alignment, and cleaning
    of point clouds to produce accurate 3D deliverables.
  • Generate
    as-built 3D models
    , floor plans, and digital twins in
    Revit
    ,
    AutoCAD
    , or
    Plant 3D
    from laser scan data.
  • Perform
    site control, georeferencing, and coordinate transformation
    using total station, GNSS, and control networks.
  • Ensure
    accuracy, completeness, and traceability
    of survey data according to project specifications and QA/QC standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and designers in
    mechanical, civil, and architectural disciplines
    for integration of scanned data into design workflows.
  • Prepare
    survey reports, equipment logs, and data documentation
    .
  • Maintain and calibrate survey instruments and ensure compliance with
    HSE and quality standards
    on site.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Geomatics Engineering
    ,
    Civil Engineering
    ,
    Surveying
    , or a related field.
  • Minimum
    4-5 years of experience
    in 3D laser scanning and surveying, preferably within
    industrial or energy infrastructure projects
    .
  • Proficiency in
    point cloud software
    (e.g., Trimble RealWorks, Leica Cyclone, Faro Scene, Autodesk Recap, CloudCompare).
  • Experience in
    Revit
    ,
    AutoCAD
    ,
    Plant 3D
    , or
    Navisworks
    for modeling and clash coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of
    survey control, coordinate systems, and transformation methods
    .
  • Ability to interpret
    P&IDs, general arrangements, and construction drawings
    .
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage field and office tasks independently.

  • Valid UAE driving license preferred.

  • (Preferred) Familiarity with
    Trimble X7/X9
    .

  • (Preferred)
    Experience in
    industrial plant surveys, tank calibration, or as-built piping documentation
    .
  • (Preferred)
    Understanding of
    BIM integration and digital twin workflows
    .
