Position Overview:

EDECS is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented
Senior Geotechnical Engineer
to lead and manage geotechnical engineering activities across all project phases—from investigation and design to execution and monitoring. The ideal candidate will ensure technical compliance, optimize resources, minimize rework, and uphold quality and safety standards across all geotechnical operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical site investigations including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Conduct advanced geotechnical analysis (e.g., bearing capacity, slope stability, settlement, etc.).
  • Oversee the implementation of geotechnical works on-site, ensuring alignment with project specifications and schedule.
  • Ensure that all team members are following work procedures in accordance with the Method of Statement (M.O.S) and project specifications.
  • Reduce the cost of rework by ensuring accuracy and adherence to design requirements.
  • Achieve high work inspection approval rates through thorough quality control and supervision.
  • Monitor compliance with project specifications to control non-conformities (targeting less than 0.5% deviation in issued Inspection Requests).
  • Follow up on all geotechnical works executed on-site to ensure alignment with the approved project plan.
  • Ensure all geotechnical work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements to minimize safety violations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and consultants throughout project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field .
  • 8–12 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, including field supervision.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer certification (preferred or required depending on region).
  • Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, ground behavior, and foundation engineering.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software and engineering tools.
