SOC Resident Engineer

We are seeking a skilled SOC Engineer to join a Security Operations Center. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the SOC environment, tools, and processes. You will be responsible for protecting an IT infrastructure from cyber threats and responding effectively to security incidents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Security Tool Management:
  maintain and operate security technologies such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), and SOAR.
• Automation and Orchestration:
  Develop and maintain automation workflows for alert triage, incident response, and threat containment to improve SOC efficiency.
• Threat Detection & Analysis:
  Analyze security alerts and event logs to detect and investigate potential threats, including malware infections and unauthorized access attempts.
• Vulnerability Management:
  Participate in vulnerability scanning, assessment, and remediation processes to strengthen the organization's security posture.
• Incident Response:
  Support incident response procedures by investigating security breaches and coordinating with other teams to contain and remediate threats.
• Documentation:
  Create and maintain documentation for security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
• Collaboration:
  Work closely with IT, DevOps, and other business units to integrate security best practices and improve overall security visibility.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements to existing security solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• Proven knowledge as a SOC Analyst, SOC Engineer, or in a similar security operations role.
• Knowledge with SIEM platforms.
• Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), network security technologies, and operating systems (Windows and Linux).
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, environment.
