Job Purpose:

The 
Microbiology Laboratory Specialist

is responsible for managing and developing Baramouda's microbiology laboratory to support research, production, and quality assurance of biofertilizers and microbial-based products. This role ensures that all microbial processes, analyses, and documentation are conducted according to scientific, operational, and sustainability standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and engage with potential partners such as:

• Operate and maintain microbiology laboratory equipment, including autoclaves, incubators, laminar flow hoods, and spectrophotometers.
• Prepare, sterilize, and monitor various culture media (e.g., Nutrient, PDA, Jensen's, Pikovskaya's).
• Isolate, identify, and maintain microbial strains such as 
  Bacillus
  , 
  Azotobacter
  , 
  Trichoderma
  , and 
  PSB
  .
• Develop biological products (biofertilizers and biostimulants) in collaboration with the R&D team.
• Perform microbial and chemical analyses for fertilizers and agricultural products to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Conduct microbial activity and quality control tests (CFU counts, IAA production, phosphate solubilization, etc.).
• Monitor and maintain culture purity, preventing contamination.
• Prepare inoculum and assist in fermentation and scale-up processes.
• Document all laboratory work, results, and reports accurately and systematically.
• Support R&D projects by performing microbiological analyses and contributing to innovative bio-solution development.
• Ensure laboratory compliance with safety procedures and international quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to enhance the performance and stability of microbial products.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Agricultural Microbiology.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a microbiology or biofertilizer laboratory.
• Master's degree in Microbiology or a related field is preferred.
• Practical experience in microbial isolation, inoculum preparation, and contamination control.
• Previous experience with biofertilizer production or microbial fermentation is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong aseptic and laboratory handling techniques.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple lab tasks efficiently.
• Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge of English (written and spoken).
