Economic Researcher

The
Economic Research and Data Senior Analyst
drives strategic and investment decisions by delivering data-driven economic intelligence and comprehensive analysis of national, regional, and global trends. Positioned within the Chairman's Office, the role provides leadership with accurate and timely insights on fiscal, monetary, financial, and market developments across all business sectors—supporting corporate growth, diversification, and sustainability while reinforcing a forward-looking, data-driven approach to strategic decision-making in an increasingly dynamic global economy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Economic & Financial Research

• Conduct and manage advanced research on:
• National development and state budget frameworks.
• Economic and social development plans.
• Fiscal and monetary policies, taxation, customs, tariffs, and regulatory frameworks.
• Financial inclusion and economic reform programs.
• Wage, pricing, and inflation dynamics.
• Banking and non-banking financial institutions and their impact on investment and industry.
• Trade, investment, and bilateral/multilateral economic agreements.
• Global economic trends and their implications on Egypt's export and agri-industrial sectors.
• Produce periodic economic reports and intelligence briefings to support the executive leadership

2. Data Analysis

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from credible sources (CAPMAS, Central Bank of Egypt, IMF, World Bank, FAO, etc.).
• Conduct
  quantitative and qualitative analyses
  to evaluate economic scenarios, financial performance, and investment opportunities.
• Identify patterns, correlations, and insights to support
  long-term planning and risk assessment
  .

3. Strategic Advisory & Business Support

• Provide data-backed insights to the
  Chief Corporate Development Officer and executive management
  , supporting corporate growth, expansion, and diversification strategies.
• Translate economic and financial trends into
  actionable business recommendations
  .
• Support
  investment assessments
  , due diligence, and partnership evaluations with evidence-based economic analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including
  Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Strategy
  — to integrate economic insights into business planning.
• Prepare
  strategic briefing documents
  and presentations for the Chairman and Board-level discussions.

4. Reporting & Communication

• Prepare and present analytical reports, executive summaries, and economic forecasts for high-level decision-making.
• Communicate complex economic findings concisely, emphasizing their impact on MAFI's strategic priorities.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity, and credibility in all research outputs.

5. Research Development & Continuous Improvement

• Stay informed of emerging economic theories, global trade trends, and new analytical tools.
• Recommend
  innovative data-driven methods
  to enhance research accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure research integrity and data confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in
  Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related discipline
  from a reputable international university.
• Advanced coursework or certification in
  economic modeling, econometrics, or data visualization
  is an advantage.

Experience

• 7–10 years of professional experience
  in economic research, policy analysis, data analytics, or financial intelligence.
• Experience in
  industrial, investment, or consulting environments
  is highly preferred.
• Proven track record in producing
  strategic research reports
  and
  economic models
  influencing corporate or governmental decisions.

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in
  data analytics and visualization tools
  (Excel Advanced, Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience with
  statistical and econometric software
  (R, Python, STATA, SPSS).
• Strong knowledge of
  macroeconomic policies, fiscal systems, and investment frameworks
  .
• Excellent ability to synthesize data into executive-level insights.
• Superior report-writing and presentation skills in
  English
  and
  Arabic.
