The Role

We are looking for a talented and creative
Senior UI/UX Specialist
to join our international product and design team.

In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex data and functionality into simple, elegant, and user-centered experiences across WasteHero's suite of web and mobile applications. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to design and build intuitive interfaces that empower cities and citizens to manage waste more intelligently.

This is a
hybrid role based in Cairo
, offering flexibility to combine remote work with in-person collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Lead the
  design and implementation of intuitive, responsive, and accessible interfaces
  across WasteHero's SaaS platform.
• Collaborate with
  product managers and engineers
  to translate user needs and business goals into functional and visually appealing designs.
• Conduct
  user research, interviews, and usability testing
  to inform design decisions and improve product experience.
• Create
  wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
  that clearly communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Implement designs in
  React and modern frontend frameworks
  , ensuring pixel-perfect execution and consistent design systems.
• Develop and maintain
  design systems and component libraries
  to promote consistency and scalability across products.
• Ensure all designs meet
  accessibility, performance, and responsiveness standards
  .
• Continuously analyze and refine UI/UX based on
  user feedback, analytics, and testing insights
  .
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in
  UI/UX design, front-end development, and interaction design
  .

You Bring

• Bachelor's degree
  in Computer Science, Design, Human–Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience
  in UI/UX design and front-end development for web or SaaS products.
• Proven experience with
  
  ,
  TypeScript
  ,
  HTML5
  ,
  CSS3
  , and modern frontend frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in
  Figma
  ,
  Adobe XD
  , or similar design and prototyping tools.
• Deep understanding of
  UX principles, design systems, and responsive design patterns
  .
• Experience conducting
  user research, usability testing, and A/B testing
  .
• Solid understanding of
  accessibility standards (WCAG)
  and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ability to translate wireframes and prototypes into
  clean, maintainable, and performant front-end code
  .
• Familiarity with
  frontend testing frameworks
  (e.g., Jest, Cypress) and
  CI/CD workflows
  .
• Strong sense of
  visual hierarchy, typography, and interaction design
  .
• Excellent
  communication skills
  and ability to present design concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• A portfolio that demonstrates strong UI/UX thinking and front-end execution.
