Role Description

As a
Structure / Architecture Tendering & Proposal Engineer

, you
will play a pivotal role to be part of our
Tender & Proposals
Design
Team
for various projects from pre-concept to completion, responsible for preparing and coordinating tender submissions for engineering projects, ensuring that design, technical, and cost aspects are fully aligned with client requirements.

This role requires strong analytical and communication skills to manage tender documentation, evaluate bids, and contribute to value engineering exercises.

Responsibilities

1- Quantity Surveying:

• Support the preparation of technical and financial proposals in coordination with design and cost teams.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Participate in tender clarifications meetings and coordinate responses with consultants and clients.
• Assist in auditing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on architectural, interior, and structural drawings and specifications.

2- Specifications and Documentation:

• Prepare & develop comprehensive and accurate architecture, interior and structure specifications for building materials, finishes, equipment, and construction methods.
• Ensure specifications comply with relevant building codes and industry standards.

3- Cost Engineering:

• Work closely with the design team to assist in drafting and issuing the RFP and to evaluate bids for the cost consultants according to the criteria set, ensuring proper coordination and clarity across all design stages.
• Evaluate sub-consultant quotations and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Review bidders' financial proposals to identify issues such as front-loading, unbalanced pricing, or unfair breakdowns to ensure compliance with tender requirements and fair cost distribution.
• Conduct internal cost estimates and trade breakdowns for Structure/Arch works.
• Assist in value engineering and risk analysis exercises and recommend alternative design solutions based on cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in
  Architecture / Structure Engineering
  or
  Construction Management
  .
• Proven Experience years) as a licensed engineer with certificates.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in tendering, design, or estimation.
• Familiar with CSI Master Formats & materials market trends.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office project and cost tracking (Primavera P6 is a plus).
• Knowledge in
  BIM
  and its application in producing accurate specifications, BOQs, and quantity take-offs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and other engineering design software (
  Navisworks is a plus.
• Understanding of risk management, value engineering, and bid strategy preparation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong understanding of engineering tenders' principles and practices.

Additional skills and knowledge

• Experience and Knowledge of hospitals, healthcare facilities and medical colleges design projects.
• Knowledge of tendering process & requirements in MENA region.
• Familiarity with Gulf projects materials specification and prices.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential.
• LEED-Certified candidates is a plus.
• Knowledge in CANDY program is a plus.
• Procurement knowledge relevant to sourcing materials and understanding cost implications in a project
