Role Overview – MEP Electrical Site Engineer | Building Services Installation & Project Supervision

We are looking for a proactive and skilled MEP Electrical Site Engineer to oversee the delivery, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems across our major building services projects. This critical on-site role will ensure the successful coordination of electrical services within high-rise developments, infrastructure works, and complex commercial schemes. Main Responsibilities – Electrical Site Supervision, MEP Coordination & Quality Assurance

• Manage the day-to-day site activities for electrical services, including distribution, lighting, fire alarm, power, cabling, containment, earthing, and life safety systems.
• Oversee and coordinate electrical subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, programme, health & safety, and industry standards.
• Work collaboratively with mechanical and public health engineers, main contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve seamless integration of all MEP systems.
• Conduct inspections, witness tests, and manage snagging to confirm installation quality and readiness for commissioning and handover.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and risk assessments, providing technical input and resolving site-related queries.
• Contribute to progress meetings, site reporting, and the resolution of project challenges to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
• Champion site-based adherence to electrical safety, environmental, and sustainability practices in line with SSE and regulatory requirements.
• Support the commissioning, testing, handover, and documentation processes for all installed electrical systems.

What You Bring – Electrical Engineering Site Experience & Communication Skills

• Proven track record of supervisory experience in electrical building services installation across high-rise, commercial, or critical infrastructure sites.
• Thorough knowledge of UK (or international) electrical installation standards, the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and best site practices.
• Expertise in managing subcontractors, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality electrical installations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the capability to address on-site technical issues and proactively drive progress.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, supporting consistent reporting, information sharing, and cross-team collaboration.
• Attention to health & safety, environmental responsibility, and maintaining inclusive, respectful working environments.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent; site-based electrical qualifications or ECS/JIB Gold Card accreditation are advantageous.
