Senior Backend Developer – 5+ Years Experience

Job Responsibilities:


• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using modern and TypeScript.


• Build scalable and reusable backend modules used across multiple applications.


• Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code following best practices and design patterns.


• Work with PostgreSQL and relational databases to design efficient schemas and queries.


• Develop RESTful APIs and integration layers consumed by web and mobile clients.


• Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control.


• Build reusable package-based backend components for a monorepo environment.


• Improve performance, optimize queries, and troubleshoot system-level issues.


• Develop unit tests and integration tests with high coverage.


• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, product, and architecture teams to deliver end-to-end features.


• Maintain and enhance existing backend libraries, tools, and shared modules.


• Participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.


• Document backend architecture, modules, and development guidelines.


• Work with Git for version control and effectively manage code in a monorepo.


• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision-making.

Qualifications:


• Strong proficiency in and TypeScript.


• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and PostgREST.


• Proven experience building scalable backend systems or reusable backend frameworks.


• Strong knowledge of API design, REST principles, and backend architecture.


• Familiarity with authentication and authorization patterns (RBAC, ABAC, JWT, sessions).


• Experience working with ORMs, query builders, or custom data access layers.


• Good understanding of software testing and experience writing unit tests.


• Experience working in monorepos and managing shared packages.


• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.


• Experience consuming or integrating third-party APIs and services.


• Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills.


• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.


• Good understanding of clean code, modular design, and scalable patterns.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Experience building reusable backend libraries, internal tooling, or SDKs.


• Experience with workflow engines, rule engines, or modular systems.


• Strong TypeScript type-system knowledge for library-level development.


• Experience with caching, queues, or distributed systems.


• Knowledge of ERP, SaaS, or multi-tenant systems is a plus.


• Experience with logging, monitoring, or observability tools.


• Previous experience working on large-scale or multi-application platforms.
