Senior Structural Geologist

Asante Gold Corporation is a gold exploration, development and operating company with a high-quality portfolio of projects and mines in Ghana. Asante is currently operating the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues with detailed technical studies at its Kubi Gold Project for early production.

All mines and projects are located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante is also exploring its Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects for new discoveries, all adjoining or along strike of major gold mines near the centre of Ghana's Golden Triangle. About This Role

This role leads structural mapping and detailed geological analysis across designated projects or mineral claims. It focuses on identifying key geological features to understand geodynamic evolution and the structural controls on mineralization. The role supports exploration, resource modeling, and mine development by reducing geotechnical risks and providing advanced structural geology expertise. Responsibilities include interpreting structural controls and developing 2D/3D geological models to guide drilling and mapping programs, ultimately delivering insights that enhance resource discovery and extraction efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute systematic geological mapping programs, emphasizing structural features in field settings, drill core and underground/open-pit exposures using advanced data collection methods (e.g., Kenometer, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and standard mapping techniques).
• Input and manage structural data in 2D and 3D geological modeling software (Leapfrog, Micromine, Datamine, ArcGIS) to build accurate models of faults, folds, fractures and deformation features.
• Maintain and update 3D geological and structural models regularly to reflect evolving site geology based on new data.
• Identify and prioritize structural targets for exploration drilling by integrating geophysical, geochemical and geological datasets to refine mineral deposit models.
• Analyze structural controls on mineralization, fluid flow, and ground stability to guide resource definition, exploration targeting and geotechnical risk assessment.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including exploration geologists, mining engineers and geotechnical specialists, to integrate structural insights into operational planning and decision-making.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, memos and presentations for stakeholders, senior management and clients, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
• Maintain comprehensive structural databases and documentation, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
• Provide geological input into resource estimation, mine design and grade control programs to optimize extraction strategies.
• Mentor and train junior geologists and technical staff, promoting best practices in structural mapping, logging and data management.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geomatics, Geological Engineering, Geography, GIS, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in mineral gold exploration.
• Professional registration with a recognized Professional association is desirable.
• Design and implement geological and structural mapping programs at regional, district, and mine scales with precision and efficiency.
• Demonstrate expertise in 2D/3D geological modeling and geospatial analysis using industry-standard tools such as Leapfrog, Micromine, Studio RM, ArcGIS, and QGIS.
• Apply advanced structural geophysical mapping techniques and integrated targeting workflows to optimize exploration outcomes.
• Utilize mineral prospectivity mapping methods, incorporating GIS and machine learning techniques for predictive modeling.
• Ensure rigorous QA/QC standards in geological data collection and interpretation, maintaining accuracy and reliability.
• Exhibit exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, effectively managing complex and competing priorities.
• Communicate complex geological concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally, to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
