Job Description

Construction Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to support Project Managers across multiple active construction projects. This role focuses on project coordination, Procore administration, document control, submittals, RFIs, and cost support, ensuring projects remain organized, compliant, and on schedule.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable coordinating with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with daily project coordination and workflow management across multiple projects.
  • Maintain accurate project data in Procore, including drawings, documents, directories, submittals, RFIs, logs, and forms.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and support estimating and preconstruction activities as needed.
  • Assist with permits, utility coordination, site documentation, punch lists, and project closeout, including O&M manuals, warranties, and as-built records.
  • Create, issue, track, and close submittals and RFIs, ensuring timely reviews and proper documentation.
  • Upload, organize, and manage plans, specifications, addenda, and revisions while enforcing naming and version control standards.
  • Prepare project reports, logs, meeting minutes, and internal status updates.
  • Track action items and follow up with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to meet deadlines.
  • Assist with subcontractor onboarding, documentation collection, and compliance tracking (COIs, W-9s, closeout items).
  • Support subcontract administration, including preparing subcontracts, tracking execution, and assisting with change orders and PCOs.
  • Assist with billing and cost control, including pay application review, progress verification, and budget tracking in Procore.
  • Contribute to standardized templates, workflows, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Must-Have

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to support multiple projects.
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Experience using Procore or similar construction project management software.

Preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or in construction project support.
  • Experience with submittals, RFIs, change orders, pay applications, and subcontract administration.
  • Estimating or quantity take-off experience is a plus.
