Senior Accountant – Compliance & Tax (Shipping & Logistics)

Alexandria | Full-Time | Min. 7 Years Experience in Taxation within Logistics/Supply Chain Sector

Role Summary:

We are hiring a proactive and experienced Senior Accountant - Compliance & Tax to lead the agency's tax compliance and planning activities, ensuring full alignment with Egyptian tax regulations, especially in the complex domain of shipping and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee preparation and timely submission of all tax declarations (VAT, WHT, Corporate Income Tax, Stamp Duty, etc.).
  • Monitor daily transactions for tax impact and maintain updated ledgers aligned with the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) requirements.
  • Lead implementation and reconciliation of the e-Invoicing and e-Receipt systems.
  • Liaise with the external tax advisor and auditors to ensure proper filing and documentation.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities and lead tax inspection readiness and dispute resolution.
  • Provide tax guidance on import/export transactions, logistics service contracts, and cross-border activities.
  • Assess tax risks and propose mitigation strategies within the agency's operations.
  • Maintain and update internal tax records, supporting documentation, and compliance procedures.

Common Tasks:

  • Ensure compliance with Egyptian accounting standards and corporate policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the finance team to support periodic financial reporting.
  • Continuously improve financial processes and suggest automation solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in the logistics or shipping sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Egyptian Tax Law and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with ETA e-Invoicing & e-Receipt systems is essential.
  • Proficient in accounting software (ERP/Navision/SAP) and MS Excel.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
