Job Location

Job Purpose:

To lead and perform the mechanical design, review, and coordination of pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring that all mechanical systems comply with project specifications, codes, and standards, and to support in reviewing and approving technical submittals and shop drawings.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Design & Technical Tasks

  • Prepare and review mechanical designs for pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants (water, sewage, RO, sludge, etc.).
  • Perform equipment selection, hydraulic calculations, and layout preparation.
  • Develop and review P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and piping layouts.
  • Ensure all designs comply with international standards (AWWA, ASTM, DIN, ISO, etc.) and project specifications.

2. Shop Drawings & Coordination

  • Review and approve Shop Drawings for pumps, valves, piping networks, and mechanical equipment.
  • Coordinate between design, civil, and electrical teams to resolve interface issues.
  • Verify actual site conditions against design and propose practical solutions.

3. Technical Submittals & Specifications

  • Review and evaluate technical offers and vendor submittals for mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, blowers, mixers, compressors, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Prepare and review Material Submittals, Data Sheets, and Compliance Sheets.Identify and highlight any deviation from specifications or design intent.
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, piping systems, and mechanical installations.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering standards (AWWA, BS, EN, ASTM, ISO).
