Finance Director

About The Role

At Octane, finance is not a back-office function. The
Finance Director
will lead the company's financial strategy with full ownership of Octane's finance function. As Finance Director, you will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape financial strategy, strengthen execution, and support Octane's next growth phase.

The role combines
strategic oversight with hands-on leadership
. You will be responsible for financial planning, performance management, capital structure, treasury, investor relations, and governance, while ensuring the business operates with strong financial discipline and enabling leadership with clear insights to make confident, long-term decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Define and lead Octane's financial strategy, aligning business objectives with long-term value creation.
• Own the end-to-end financial planning cycle: budgeting, forecasting, monthly closing, and performance analysis.
• Identify margin improvement and cost optimization opportunities.
• Act as a strategic partner to Sales, Product, Technology, Operations, Commercial, and Human Resources teams.
• Enable growth through financial modelling, scenario planning, investment evaluation, and expansion readiness.
• Lead investor relations and fundraising, including monthly reporting, board materials, due diligence, and financial storytelling.
• Design and oversee capital structuring, funding strategies, and lender relationships.
• Oversee treasury and cash management, ensuring strong liquidity, disciplined spending, and efficient working capital.
• Establish and enforce financial controls, policies, risk frameworks, and compliance standards.
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance team that supports operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles
• Expertise in Financial Planning and Financial Reporting
• Background in high-growth, operationally complex, or multi-business environments
• Strong experience in fundraising, investor relations, and capital planning
• Hands-on leader with strong business judgment and execution mindset
• Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
• Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving abilities
