Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP / Laravel Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing scalable web applications using PHP, Laravel, and MySQL, along with strong knowledge of modern web technologies and APIs. You will be responsible for leading projects, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring high-quality code delivery aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using PHP (Laravel framework).
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and implement innovative solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices (SOLID, DRY, OOP).
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of applications.
  • Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards across the team.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Participate in system architecture planning and contribute to technology decisions.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in PHP web development.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Laravel framework.
  • Strong proficiency in MySQL and database design principles.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (e.g., , React is a plus).
  • Proficiency in RESTful API design and third-party integrations.
  • Strong understanding of MVC architecture and OOP principles.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git / GitHub / GitLab).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud environments (AWS, DigitalOcean) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with unit testing (PHPUnit) and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Knowledge of queue systems (e.g., Redis, RabbitMQ).
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban).
  • Experience in performance tuning and scalability optimization.
