Role Description

1. Customer Account Management

Create and maintain customer accounts in the accounting system.

Ensure accuracy of customer data, credit limits, and payment terms.

Monitor customer balances and ageing reports regularly.

2. Invoicing & Billing

Issue sales invoices, debit notes, and credit notes according to company policies.

Verify sales orders, delivery notes, and contracts before invoicing.

Ensure timely and accurate posting of customer transactions.

  1. Collections & Follow-up

Follow up with customers to ensure timely collection of dues.

Prepare weekly and monthly collection schedules.

Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances and resolve payment issues.

4. Reconciliation

Perform monthly reconciliations of customer accounts.

Coordinate with the sales team to resolve discrepancies, disputes, or returns.

Ensure all receipts are accurately recorded and matched to invoices.

5. Reporting

Prepare ageing reports, collection performance reports, and overdue analysis.

Report high-risk or problematic accounts to management.

Assist in monthly closing procedures related to receivables.

6. Compliance & Internal Control

Ensure compliance with the company's accounting policies and procedures.

Maintain proper documentation for audits.

Support the finance department in implementing internal controls to reduce credit risk.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in managing customer accounts, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
  • Strong skills in analysing financial data, preparing statements, and reconciling accounts
  • Knowledge of accounting software tools and Microsoft Excel
  • Keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organisational skills
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Previous experience in the electrical engineering field is a plus
