About the job:

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice to senior management and various business units on all real estate-related matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and development projects.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate and commercial documents, such as purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, joint venture agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence investigations on properties to identify and mitigate legal risks, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Manage and oversee external counsel, and assist in negotiations and mediation to resolve legal disputes.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure the company's adherence to legal standards and industry regulations. Identify potential compliance risks and create strategies to mitigate them.
  • Advise on legal issues related to corporate governance, ensuring all activities are in line with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations affecting the real estate industry. Prepare periodic reports on legal achievements, obstacles, and risk management strategies for senior management.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams (e.g., finance, development, operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., government bodies, external lawyers) to facilitate smooth and legally sound transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law is required. A Master of Laws (LL.M.) or other relevant postgraduate degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4-7 years of relevant legal experience, with a significant portion of that time focused on real estate law.
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate law, including property acquisition, development, leasing, and litigation. Strong understanding of corporate and commercial law.
