Cybersecurity Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1.    Security Engineering & Operations

·      Deploy, configure, and maintain core security controls mapped to ISO27001:2022 Functions (Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover) and dealing with the open source Wazuh SIEM solution.

·      Administer and tune Open Source SIEM, SIEM Solution/EDR/XDR solutions; create correlation rules/use cases and basic SOAR playbooks to reduce MTTD/MTTR.

·      Conduct vulnerability management end-to-end: scanning, risk triage, patching/mitigation tracking, and verification.

2.    Threat-Led Defense

·      Use MITRE ATT&CK to map detections and threat hunts to tactics & techniques, document coverage and gaps.

·      Support incident response: initial triage, evidence collection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident reviews.

3.    Cloud & Identity Security

·      Implement secure configurations and guardrails for major clouds (e.g., AWS/Azure), enforce least privilege, MFA, logging, and key/secret hygiene.

4.    Documentation & Continuous Improvement

·      Maintain runbooks, playbooks, architectures, detection catalogs, track metrics, and drive control maturity.

Minimum Qualifications

·      Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.

· or 4 years of hands-on experience in Open Source SIEM, SIEM Solution/EDR administration, network security, vulnerability management, incident response, identity & access management, or cloud security.

·       Working familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001:2022, CIS Controls v8.1, and MITRE ATT&CK (mapping detections and hunts).

Preferred Courses

·       Relevant certifications (ITI (3-months , or 9-Months), CEH, GSEC, GCIA/GCIH).

·       Experience with ATT&CK-aligned purple teaming or detection engineering.
