Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of all structural steel detailing work. Reviews project documents, checks fabrication and erection drawings, verifies corrections, and ensures adherence to company standards, codes, and client specifications. Coordinates with detailers, design, and other project teams to resolve discrepancies, manage schedules, and maintain organized documentation and design logs. Provides feedback, training evaluations, and supports detailing work when needed, ensuring all deliverables meet quality and timeline requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for the detailing works.
  • Ability to review all documents of the projects and secure the quality for all detailing output.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Maintain organized records of all technical drawings and revisions for future reference
  • Coordinate all unclear points with material, shop, construction and project teams.
  • If there are Returned Drawings with comments, he should be able to address it properly.
  • Make sure whole steel items have been released according to phases.
  • Identify errors/comments for detailers to correct them.
  • Review all documents again after the corrections are made to make sure all the errors/comments have been corrected.
  • Make sure that there is no deviation from Elegancia Steel procedures, templates & standards.
  • Coordinate with Design Team /Engineering Manager if find any discrepancy/concern.
  • Update daily to the Technical Manager for any impact on the submittal's schedules.
  • Identify to Engineering Manager the training deficiencies and evaluation for each detailer after job completion.
  • Work as a Detailer if needed according to detailing capacity
  • Prepare monthly/yearly evaluation for each Detailer in his team.
  • Work within project timelines to deliver drawings and designs on schedule.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D), Tekla, Navis, Revit and other drafting/design software.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication, assembly processes, and construction detailing.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and produce structural, architectural, and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with shop fabrication standards and construction documentation.
  • Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, and technical specifications.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is an added advantage.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum
    8 years
    of total work experience.
  • At least
    3 years
    of relevant detailing experience in structural steel and pre-engineered building fabrication and erection.
  • GCC/Egypt projects experience (4 years) is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Architecture, Civil or Mechanical.
  • Certificate/Diploma in AutoCAD or related drafting discipline.
