**Opportunity**

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Chief of Party (COP) for the anticipated five-year USAID Egypt Macroeconomic Activity. The goal of this new activity is to build more resilience in Egypt's macroeconomic framework, and could include areas such as public finance, debt management, climate change financing, monetary policy, or attracting foreign investment. Climate change is an evolving priority for the Government of Egypt and USAID, and therefore the activity will consider it as a cross-cutting theme during implementation.

The position will be based in **Cairo, Egypt **and is contingent upon project award to Abt Associates.
**Core Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic direction, long-term programmatic vision, and technical leadership to produce activity results.
- Manage project budgets and ensure the submission of timely and accurate program, financial, and procurement reports.
- Supervise a multi-disciplinary team of experts.
- Oversee the development of annual work planning.
- Ensure timely, high-quality implementation of activities and deliverables to achieve project indicators and targets.
- Serve as the activity’s key liaison with USAID/Egypt, project partners and other development implementors. Establish and maintain strong relationships with these stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of activities with relevant ministries, private sector, civil society, development partners, and other USAID and U.S. government-funded initiatives.
- Participate in the programmatic evaluation; oversee project learning approaches and develop a culture of adaptive management.
- Oversee and ensure strict compliance to USAID and Abt’s policies, regulations, and internal controls.

**What We Value**
- Master’s degree in economics, public finance, public administration, public policy, law, development, or similar field preferred. Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of commensurate experience accepted.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience implementing development programs focused on one or more of the following areas: macroeconomic and fiscal policy and planning, public financial management, public investment management, and other relevant disciplines.
- Demonstrated success managing complex donor programs is desired, including at least 5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role for large USAID-funded programs.
- Demonstrated management, leadership, political acumen, and related skills.
- Experience building and maintaining partnerships with host country national government counterparts and international agencies.
- Experience in Egypt or the region preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English required. Arabic fluency preferred.
