**INTERNSHIP - MEL**

***Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
Under the supervision of the MEL Advisor, the Intern will assist TRADE staff in various organizational, clerical, and administrative tasks to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities include:

- Responsible for MEL data entry.
- Prepares analytical and period reports on data entered.
- Develops and maintains a MEL filing system.
- Updates MEL tools based on instructions.
- Uploads data to the project’s MIS.
- Supports with training preparations.
- Performs other tasks as necessary.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Fresh university graduate or undergraduate in a relevant field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Microsoft Office Skills - MS Windows, Excel, Word; and formatting letters and documents.
- Attention to detail and a good analytical thinker.
- Ability to manage complex activities and complete tasks on time.
- A friendly and outgoing nature, able to support an extensive and international team of professionals.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and ask for guidance when needed.

**Project Overview and Role**:
USAID’s Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project builds on decades of U.S. investments in Egyptian businesses and economic policy with the aim of substantially increasing Egyptian exports from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The TRADE project focuses on seven selected sectors: engineering products, food processing, home têxtiles, ready-made garments, printing & packaging, chemicals, and building materials. Through the project, USAID works with the Government of Egypt to improve the trade and investment policy environment and reduce barriers to trade. USAID also partners with business associations and export councils to strengthen the trade services ecosystem for small
- and medium-sized exporters, as well as with private companies to help them access new international markets to increase export sales. TRADE tackles many trade and investment-related issues to sustainably increase Egyptian exports and drive economic growth.
