**Job Description**:
Assistant Cost Controller

The Role
- Knowledge of inventory management, stores management, procurement and internal controls.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prepare the costing for recipes and menus prepared by the Executive Chef and suggest the selling price.
- Perform test checking on the receiving of goods at the hotel to ensure that the procedures are followed correctly.
- Prepare daily flash report of food costs and verify daily outlet void control sheets.
- Attend major banquet events with open bar, prepare P&L statement of major banqueting events and prepare banquet revenue breakdown summaries.
- Randomly test the inventory of outlets by reconciling the opening stock with the closing stock, taking account of store issues and sales.
- Verify and control complimentary bar order forms, Club Lounge Food & Beverage cost, fruit baskets in the rooms, etc.
- Accounting for daily inter-outlet transfer requests for proper cost allocation while maintaining accurate inventory reconciliation
- Perform beverage outlet spot checks on random basis
- Conduct spot checks on receiving items, verifying invoice quantities and weights against actual quantities and quality received.
- Planning & Organizing:

- Thinks ahead, developing contingency plans where necessary.
- Manages time and resources effectively.
- Sets and strives to achieve high personal performance standards.
- Operations:

- Handle all queries from internal & external customers.
- Motivates and inspires others to perform.
- Communicates openly and clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Administration:

- Analyse each cost and come up with recommendation / alternatives to the management.
- Check if the purchasing department is buying right products at right price and from right vendor. Provide all observation on purchasing department to Director of Finance.
