Rashpetco is a Joint Venture company operating one of Egypt’s largest gas fields. The JV is the operator of WDDM Field supplying gas to the National Grid for internal use, and to the adjacent ELNG plant for liquids export. Shell is a major partner in both Rashpetco and ELNG. The JV also receives and exports 3rd party gas on a regular basis. Maintenance Reliability and Turnaround (MRTA)engineer is an equal time (14 on, 14 off cycle) rotational position, reporting to the The Maintenance and Reliability Support General Manager, providing specialist support for all maintenance, reliability and Asset integrity matters relating to Rashpetco onshore and offshore locations. This role is very much an influencing position; the post holder does not directly manage the day-to-day maintenance and integrity issues. The role requires close collaboration with fellow secondees and JV counterparts in a multinational, multicultural operation; providing critical day-to-day support tasks to help ensure safe, optimised and compliant production of gas and condensate from Rashpetco Concessions as well as third party gas in line with production plans. In support of Rashpetco’s commitment to implement Shell’s Asset Management System (AMS) processes, the job holder will have several key responsibilities in support of this initiative, The jobholder will be expected to impart operational knowledge to JV colleagues and continuously develop Egyptian national staff competence.
What’s the role?
- Maintenance Shutdowns / Turnarounds: T/A as part of AMS Challenge shutdown triggers to ensure that it is clearly understood, valuable and represent the risk levels in the plant. Support the establishment of an effective and efficient shutdown organization with clear roles and responsibilities and enhanced communication network. Support shutdown planning activities from scoping through to final freeze stage, including work capacity understanding, resources optimization and unnecessary tasks elimination. Challenge the intrusive nature of all shutdown scope. Shutdown activities monitoring, co-ordination and troubleshooting interventions. Co-ordinate safety pre-start up reviews (Quality assurance plan) to ensure safe completion of shutdown activities prior to start-up. Prepare contingency plans and emergent work plans.
- Reliability and Rotating Machinery to Manage Equipment Care (MEC) Provide rotating equipment/turbomachinery with the required technical and managerial support for achieving maximum utilization. Support establishing and stabilizing Rashpetco reliability function. Ensure that the reliability team is trained and competent to perform the required scope. Define a process for equipment selection, criticality analysis and boundary identification. Challenge generic data inputs to the reliability analysis to ensure computability and suitability. Support and lead FEMA, RCM and RCA workshops to ensure process is functioning and achieving its target. Ensure that good quality field data are feeding back to the system for a better and realistic reliability analysis.Follow-up Managing Threats and Opportunity (MTO) process and Bad Actors identification, facilitates MTO scoring activities at Idku to ensure consistency amongst threats/opportunities. Provides MTO coaching for Idku team & Facilitates weekly MTO update/progress meeting at Idku site.
- Asset Integrity Review asset integrity management philosophy to ensure clear roles and responsibilities are identified and avoid conflicts. Reassess asset integrity KPIs within the context of the asset integrity improvement plan. Challenge current KPI figures from the quality of data inputs and work achievement point of view. Support the development of new maintenance/AI KPIs to reflect actual plant performance. Review performance standards to ensure its ongoing suitability. Strengthen up the deferral management to ensure that plant risks are understood and acted upon. Enhance the presence of clear procedure for SCE identification with periodic reviews to avoid underestimation and/or overestimation of SCEs. Reflect the reviewed performance standards in a dynamic maintenance strategy.
What we need from You
- Preferred engineering degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 10 years’ experience
- Extensive working knowledge of O&G industry essential.
- Fluent written and spoken English language essential.
- Experience of working in JV environment preferred.
