Job Purpose

Providing technical support in Science Laboratories (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) by implementing the SABIS® Educational System to ensure an environment conducive to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed correctly in the lab.
- Ensuring that equipment is properly cleaned.
- Ensuring that chemicals and apparatus are appropriately stored.
- Ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and ready to use.
- Ensuring that correct chemicals and apparatus are available and ready for particular lessons.
- Being able to prepare solutions of desired concentrations from stock bottles.
- Being able to prepare indicator solutions from stock solid.
- Fixing equipment in the lab.
- Running trials of experiments prior to classes to ensure smooth running of classes.
- Managing the stock control of chemicals and equipment in laboratories.
- Distributing science posters to classes for display each term.
- Coordinating the use of labs and equipment among various classes and teachers.
- Working closely with teachers during lab sessions and helping students when needed.
- Liaising with Heads of Departments to prepare a timetable for lab use and to set requirements of various sessions inside and outside the labs.
- Preparing the lab for AS and A-Level board exams.
- Completing other administrative task assigned by the school administration.

- English proficiency and communication skills
- Ability to work within a team
