***Project Overview and Role**:
USAID’s Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project builds on decades of U.S. investments in Egyptian businesses and economic policy with the aim of substantially increasing Egyptian exports from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The TRADE project focuses on six selected sectors: engineering products, food processing, home têxtiles, ready-made garments, chemicals, and building materials. Through the project, USAID works with the Government of Egypt to improve the trade and investment policy environment and reduce barriers to trade. USAID also partners with business associations and export councils to strengthen the trade services ecosystem for small
- and medium-sized exporters, as well as with private companies to help them access new international markets to increase export sales. TRADE tackles many trade and investment-related issues to sustainably increase Egyptian exports and drive economic growth.

***Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance Manager for the overall financial management of the USAID TRADE project.

**TASKS**
- Assist Finance Manager in consolidation of monthly forecast in coordination with technical and operations teams.
- Assist Finance Manager in preparing the Fund Transfer Requests for HO.
- Reviews all USAID TRADE project general accounting functions, including field voucher, general ledger, journal entries, financial reports, and month-end closure.
- Reviews all documentation for all transactions’ vouchers that prepared by the Project Accountants before submitting to the Finance Manager to ensure the compliance with General Accepted Accounting principles, TRADE policies and USAID requirements.
- Responsible for following up bank accounts and prepare the required reconciliations.
- Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of audits, financial statements and varied fiscal reports.
- Analyze financial information, call attention to trends, prepare reports on variances and make recommendations.
- Prepares monthly salary payroll for TRADE staff based on the timesheets including the deductions according to the Egyptian laws.
- Responsible for processing payroll payments for the staff.
- Responsible for the preparation staff income taxes and social insurance remittance. and liaising with local authority in these matters.
- Assist Finance Manager in the preparation of accurate financial reports.
- Undertakes any other duty requested by the Finance Manager.

**Required Qualifications**:

- University degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 to 7 years of progressively experience, with USAID projects.
- Sound knowledge of applicable taxes and social insurance laws and regulations.
- Sound knowledge of auditing practices and principles.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office (excel).
- proficient English language, Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
